Integrative Therapies
The Center for Integrative Care, located in the
Tebo Family Medical Building on the
Foothills Medical Campus, provides an array of complementary therapies that can aid healing and
recovery. All services are evidence based, integrated with conventional
care, and provided by certified and licensed practitioners. These therapies
reduce stress and anxiety, and improve clinical outcomes by enhancing
wound healing, reducing the need for pain medication and shortening hospital stays.
The Center provides services for individuals currently undergoing cancer
treatment and cancer survivors, as well as their family members and caregivers.
We offer the following integrative therapies:
We can bill your insurance company if you have any
of these treatments as a covered benefit.
Benefits of Integrative Therapies
Integrative care is also known by other names, including complementary
medicine, alternative medicine, complementary healing and adjunctive care.
These therapies have been proven in clinical research to be safe and effective for:
- Improving postoperative wound healing
- Promoting deep relaxation to boost the body's own power to heal
- Reducing the need for pain medication
- Reducing symptoms resulting from chemotherapy and radiation therapy
- Decreasing stress
- Improving clinical outcomes
Our staff consists of experienced, oncology-trained, certified and licensed
practitioners, trained in safe, evidence-based complementary care practices
but who also have thorough knowledge of conventional cancer treatment.
This team works in collaboration with BCH physicians and other members
of the health care team to obtain the best outcome for each individual.
Schedule Outpatient Integrative Therapy
The Center for Integrative Care is primarily an outpatient program. A physician
order is preferred but not required. Services are also available for inpatients
at Foothills Hospital with a physician or nurse referral. Home-based palliative
care is also available.
