At Boulder Community Health, we are doing our best to give you what you need to know in advance by providing self-pay information and resources about pricing for common procedures and services. Please click here for our 2022 Price Transparency Sheet. Please see links below for info on:

Actual charges for any health care service are dependent on the circumstances at the time the service is rendered. Actual prices on the final hospital bill may vary from this information based on the particular hospital providing the services, the patient’s medical condition, unknown circumstances or complications, final diagnosis, and recommended treatment ordered by the attending physician(s) and other factors.

Please be advised that while BCH attempts to estimate the prices of care as accurately as possible, there may be significant variations between the prices listed and the actual price billed to the patient. BCH strongly encourages patients with health insurance to consult with their insurer to determine their financial responsibility.

Cost of an Emergency Department Visit

Emergency Department charges are based on the level of emergency care provided to our patients at either our Foothills Hospital Emergency Department in Boulder or the Emergency Department at our Community Medical Center in Lafayette.

The levels, with level 1 representing basic emergency care, reflect the type of accommodations needed, the personnel resources, the intensity of care and the amount of time needed to provide treatment. The following charges do not include fees for drugs, appliances, supplies or additional ancillary procedures that may be required for a particular emergency treatment. They also do not include fees for Emergency Department physicians, who will bill separately for their services. Our 2022 Emergency Department Price Estimate Rates reflect the amount a patient might pay if they take advantage of our Boulder Community Health prompt-pay self-pay discount.
