Our entire surgery staff, which includes surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses and technologists, takes great pride in offering care that is both individualized and compassionate.

Anesthesiology

Our highly experienced team of board-certified anesthesiologists specializes in the use of drugs or other agents that cause insensibility to pain. They are responsible for many aspects of patient’s care including preoperative medical evaluation, determining the appropriate type of anesthesia, supporting life functions throughout surgery and alleviating pain while under anesthesia.

Cardiovascular

Our comprehensive heart program is highly regarded for its aggressive, full-scale approach to treating heart disease. We have an experienced surgical staff that specialize in a variety of both minimally invasive and traditional procedures, and have access to the most advanced technology and equipment. Most patients undergo surgery to repair heart abnormalities such as blocked coronary arteries or defective heart valves.

Foothills Hospital is the only facility in Boulder County to offer minimally invasive MAZE surgery for persistent atrial fibrillation. Jointly performed by both a cardiac surgeon and an electrophysiology specialist, MAZE surgery treats an irregular heartbeat by creating a "maze" of new electrical pathways to let electrical impulses travel easily through the heart. Our Ear, Nose and Throat specialists help patients with a variety of problems, including hearing loss, sinus disorders and persistent throat disorders.

General Surgery

Our general surgeons are the most experienced in the county. They actively perform a variety of traditional, robotic, laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures to treat a wide array of medical problems involving the abdomen, stomach, liver, glands, and colon, as well as vascular surgery and more.

Gynecology

BCH has a long list of highly regarded women’s health specialists and an experienced team of surgeons that specialize in many women’s health problems. We have the latest technology and resources, including robotic and laparoscopic surgery, to offer patients high quality treatment needed to address common women’s health issues, such as pelvic prolapse, uterine fibroids, incontinence, endometriosis and more.

Hand Surgery

Hand surgeons care for patients with problems of the hand, wrist and forearm. Many hand surgeons are also experts in diagnosing and caring for shoulder and elbow problems. Our board-certified hand surgeons use the latest techniques to treat a wide range of conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome, wrist pain and sports injuries to the hand and wrist.

Neurosurgery

Our team of neurosurgeons offer access to the latest technology and state-of-the-art facilities to diagnose and treat a disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and blood vessels that carry blood to and from the brain. Foothills Hospital is the only facility in Boulder County to offer endovascular neurosurgery, which provides innovative treatments for diseases that affect the blood vessels of the brain and spinal cord. Endovascular procedures can benefit people suffering from strokes, aneurysms, brain tumors and defects in blood vessels in the brain.

Ophthalmology

Our board-certified ophthalmologists are specialists in both medical and surgical treatment of serious eye problems. They utilize the latest technologies and techniques to treat such conditions as cataracts, glaucoma, retinopathy, astigmatism and myopia.

Oral Surgery

Our team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons are board certified and highly experienced to correcting a wide spectrum of diseases and injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, and jaw.

Orthopedics

BCH orthopedic surgeons offer a wide range of surgical options, including robotic arm-assisted surgery and other minimally invasive techniques. We provide state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to enable our surgeons to perform effective procedures for an extensive array of orthopedic problems. Plastic Surgery

Cosmetic plastic surgery includes surgical and nonsurgical procedures that enhance and reshape structures of the body to improve appearance and confidence. Reconstructive surgery is performed to treat structures of the body affected aesthetically or functionally by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors or disease. Our board-certified plastic surgeons use the latest techniques to meet their patients' needs.

Podiatry

Podiatrists provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries to the foot and ankle. Treatment may include physical therapy, prescribing medications or surgery. Podiatric surgeons repair such ailments and injuries as Achillies tendon ruptures, foot and ankle fractures, ankle instability, arthritic disorders, flatfoot deformities, Neuromas, toenail disorders, bunions and hammertoes.

Urological

Our urologists have significant experience performing a wide range of urologic surgeries. BCH provides access to the latest technology, including minimally invasive da Vinci robotic surgery, which can offer less pain and faster recovery.
