Pregnancy and Childbirth Care
Expert, Personalized Care for Mom and Baby
As you get ready to welcome your little one into the world, there’s
a lot to consider. From choosing a doctor or midwife to deciding how you
want to give birth, we’re ready to support and guide you along the
way. At Boulder Community Health, you’ll receive the highest-level
pregnancy care, along with many options tailored to your birthing preferences
and needs.
At BCH, you can decide to have either an obstetrician or certified nurse-midwife
care for you, starting at the moment you know you’re pregnant to
the instant you cradle baby in your arms. Finding the right fit will depend
on the type of birth experience you’ve dreamt about and your medical needs.
Obstetricians: Obstetricians/gynecologists, or OB/GYNs, are physicians who’ve
spent four years after medical school in a residency program becoming
experts in every stage of pregnancy and childbirth. The welcoming and
experienced obstetricians at our Boulder Women’s Care clinic work
together to provide exceptional, comprehensive care for both routine and
complicated pregnancies.
If you decide to become a patient of
Boulder Women’s Care, you’ll experience a more traditional approach to monitoring your
pregnancy and delivering your baby. To schedule an appointment, call 303-441-0587.

Certified Nurse-Midwives: As registered nurses who’ve earned their master's degrees in
midwifery and undergone special training, the certified nurse-midwives with
Foothills Community Midwives care for women with low-risk pregnancies and seeking a more natural birthing
experience. Our nurse-midwives are strong supporters of empowering moms-to-be
throughout their journey and bringing a nurturing, emotionally oriented
approach to childbirth — such as all-natural childbirth —
in the comfort and safety of a hospital setting.

A healthy pregnancy starts with quality maternity care. At BCH, you will
receive expert, comprehensive care and support — before, during
and after childbirth. Our obstetrician and midwife teams offer family
planning, preconception care, prenatal care, labor and delivery and postpartum care.
Low-Risk Pregnancy Care: Our experienced obstetricians and nurse-midwives will help guide you
through a low-risk pregnancy. You’ll see a dedicated care team for
many regular check-ups and diagnostic tests to track your health and your
baby’s growth through pregnancy.
High-Risk Pregnancy Care: Sometimes pregnancies require specialized prenatal care.
Boulder Women's Care obstetricians have the expertise and experience needed for providing a
higher level of medical care during a high-risk pregnancy, as well as
any interventions needed to deliver babies as safely as possible.
We want to help make your pregnancy and the birth of your child everything
you’ve dreamed. Our obstetricians and nurse-midwives will guide
through your options for childbirth — such as options for pain relief,
delivery methods, infant feeding, and newborn care — and help you
create a birth plan that supports your wishes for that special day.

Women who take steps to get healthy before pregnancy are less likely to
have babies that are born premature, have low birthweight or other disabling
conditions. Special care during the time leading up to your pregnancy
can also improve your chances of getting pregnant. Our obstetricians and
midwives can help you optimize your health prior to pregnancy, with the
goal of assisting you in getting pregnant and delivering a healthy baby.
