The Final B Strong Ride and the Future of Integrative Cancer Care at BCH

On August 8, 2026, 771 riders came together for one final B Strong Ride, celebrating an extraordinary tradition built around cycling, community, cancer survivorship and giving back.

All 771 riders returned home safe and sound and raised an incredible $345,000 for the B Strong Center for Integrative Care.

Over the years, 11,722 riders have participated and $5.5 million has been raised to support community organizations, including Boulder Community Health.

The Ride Ends. The B Strong Legacy Continues.

While this marked the final B Strong Ride, the mission of B Strong is continuing through the newly established B Strong Center for Integrative Care Endowment.

The Boulder Community Health Foundation has committed a $1 million seed gift to launch the endowment and help create a permanent source of support for integrative cancer care at BCH. The $3 million fundraising goal is to ensure that future generations of patients can continue accessing integrative therapies that provide comfort, alleviate side effects of treatment and support quality of life throughout their cancer journey.

Integrative therapy complements conventional cancer treatment with evidence-based therapies including acupuncture, oncology massage and Reiki, supporting patients’ physical, emotional and mental well-being throughout treatment and survivorship. Time and again, patients express that integrative therapies helped them persevere through cancer treatment when the side effects had become too difficult to bear.

In 2025 alone, donor generosity supported:

  • 382 community members during cancer treatment or survivorship
  • 2,694 integrative care treatments

Where B Strong Began

The B Strong Ride was founded by cancer survivor, Kevin Mulshine alongside his BCH radiologist, Dr. Roger Nichols. Inspired by Kevin’s own experience with cancer and the care he received at BCH, what began as a ride among friends grew into a community tradition that would ultimately bring together thousands of riders, volunteers, sponsors, survivors and supporters.

In recognition of the ride’s extraordinary impact, Boulder Community Health officially renamed the Center for Integrative Care the B Strong Center for Integrative Care in April 2025.

What Kevin helped start became much more than a bike ride. It became a community, a source of support for people facing cancer and a legacy that will continue caring for patients for generations to come.

To every rider who clipped in, every volunteer who made the day possible, every sponsor and donor who supported the cause, and every person who has been part of B Strong over the years - thank you.

The final ride may be over, but B Strong is here to stay.
