Boulder Community Health Foundation is grateful to Long Hockey LLC and the USA 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame for their generous support of the newly established B Strong Center for Integrative Care Endowment.
For nearly 30 years, Long Hockey has brought together adult hockey players for organized skates six mornings a week—building community while celebrating the role that staying active can play in lifelong health and well-being. The USA 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame, a recently established nonprofit, shares that spirit by recognizing hockey players their 80s and beyond who exemplify healthy aging and a lifelong passion for the sport.
Giving back has also become an important part of the Long Hockey community. Over the years, the organization has supported local needs including the Boulder Hockey Club Scholarship Fund, and individuals and families impacted by the Marshall Fire.
Most recently, an anonymous donor within the Long Hockey community suggested supporting the B Strong Center for Integrative Care. The connection was especially meaningful given the group’s longstanding relationship with Boulder Community Health President and CEO, Dr. Robert Vissers, who is also a longtime Long Hockey player.
Together, Long Hockey and the USA 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame made a $1,500 gift to the B Strong Center for Integrative Care Endowment.
The BCH Foundation recently established the B Strong Center for Integrative Care Endowment to create a sustainable source of funding for services that are not often covered by insurance but are incredibly impactful for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Through acupuncture, oncology massage and Reiki, the B Strong Center helps patients manage the physical and emotional side effects of treatment—from pain, nausea and fatigue to stress and anxiety.
Building this permanent endowment will help ensure patients can continue to access these supportive therapies when they need them most.

We are grateful to Long Hockey and the USA 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame for turning their commitment to community, connection and healthy aging into meaningful support for people facing cancer in our community.
