For Expecting Moms & Women of All Ages
To protect our patients and staff, all people entering a BCH care facility
will be required to wear a mask (exceptions include children <2 yrs.
old or medical reasons such as trouble breathing, unconsciousness, or
someone unable to remove a mask without assistance). *Bandanas, neck gaiters,
and masks with valves are not acceptable.
Thanks to our community's compliance with public health and safety
recommendations, we are able to reopen many of the services we offer at
BCH. It is safe to come to BCH for your health care needs.

What is Midwife Care?
Certified nurse midwives (CNMs) are registered nurses with graduate education
in midwifery. Midwives offer personalized care to women of all ages. Midwives
focus on each woman’s experience, and the latest research, to support
holistic wellbeing. They view pregnancy and childbirth as a natural process
rather than a medical condition, so are strong supporters of empowering
moms throughout this journey.
Foothills Community Midwives
Our certified nurse midwives help expecting moms and families create empowering
birth experiences in the comfort and safety of a hospital setting, with
deliveries at the
Family Birth Center within
Foothills Hospital. We consult with Boulder Women’s Care's OB/GYN doctors when
needed, to provide the best of both expertise areas to each patient.
Foothills Community Midwives build close, collaborative relationships with
women that can last a lifetime. With offices in
Erie, our services include:
- Pregnancy, labor and delivery and postpartum care
- Well woman exams
- Family planning services
Our team of certified nurse midwives include:
Left to right: Midwives Marcie Mullins, Paige Swales, Diane Utz, Martine Tesone

What Our Patients Say
"My midwife, Paige Swales, was with me every step of the way during
labor. From texting throughout the morning to the moment our little one
arrived, Paige was calm and collected and held the space for me to bring
this baby out into the world." – Chelsea Jackson |
