“Today, at 78, I am healthy and living a full and happy life thanks to all the care I have received from BCH. I will be forever grateful.”
On May 30, 2020, during the worst of the pandemic, I had a CT scan because I had fallen on ice 2 months prior. To my surprise, it showed subdural hematoma that had displaced 1/4 of my brain. I was immediately admitted to the ER, and very soon after that seen by Dr. Rajpal, the neurosurgeon. I had surgery the next morning and spent 10 days in the ICU and another 2 in hospital. The medical care I received from the neurosurgeon, the ICU personnel, and rehab services could not have been better. Their encouragement and moral support, at a time when visitors were not allowed, contributed to my healing. This was followed by a week at a rehab facility and then home care. The home care team and my new PCP, Dr. Stephanie Hess, further contributed to my healing. Dr. Hess continues to provide exceptional care. Today, at 78, I am healthy and living a full and happy life thanks to all the care I have received from BCH. I will be forever grateful.
