Recognizing & Treating Heart Valve Disease: Free Health Lecture

AORTIC OR MITRAL VALVE DISEASE RAISES RISK OF HEART FAILURE
It’s a troubling fact that, for some people, aortic or mitral valve disease progresses very slowly, so that the symptoms — such as fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness and palpitations — are barely noticeable. Or, you can have no symptoms at all. But left untreated, aortic or mitral valve disease can have serious and potentially fatal complications, including heart failure.

Come hear Dr. Srinivas Iyengar, a board-certified cardiologist who is fellowship trained in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology, describe the risks, symptoms and diagnosis of aortic and mitral valve disease. Then learn about medications that can ease the symptoms, as well as the latest surgical treatments, including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) — a new minimally invasive procedure for treating severe aortic stenosis.
