Special comments from former scholarship recipients

“As an employee of BCH, I was thrilled to qualify and receive BCHA scholarships that enabled me to complete my MSN and MHA degrees. Immediately after graduating, I applied for a BCH Director’s position and received the promotion. My school loans are not as high as they would have been without the generosity of the Ambassadors. Thank you for supporting my career goals at Boulder Community Health.” - Kristine Mickens, MSN/MHA, RN, CNOR, CSSM Director of Nursing, Perioperative Services.

“I am a previous recipient of your scholarships to help fund my undergraduate education. After receiving my undergraduate degree in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and working at Boulder Community Health, I was accepted into a graduate program at Arcadia University. I graduated with a master in medical science, physician assistant studies, and a master in public health. In addition, I received a public health scholarship, served as the president of my physician assistant class, and received the Program Director’s award for professionalism while in the program at Arcadia. While at Arcadia, I was also able to travel to Nicaragua on a medical mission trip through Global Brigades, and spend a month practicing medicine in South Africa. I have accepted a position as a hospitalist physician assistant at St. Luke’s hospital group in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The scholarship through Boulder Community Health allowed me to achieve this longstanding goal of mine by helping to fund my education. I am so grateful to have worked with Boulder Community Health in many capacities throughout my career. I hope to eventually give back all the help I received throughout my education!” - Zoe Johnson, MMS-PA, MPH
