      Physician Bio

Elizabeth (Liz) Cowan is a family nurse practitioner certified through
the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She received her nursing
degree at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center and her Master
of Science in Nursing from Regis University. Before pursuing a career
in nursing, Ms. Cowan grew up in Oklahoma. She attended Hamilton College
in upstate New York where she studied biology and anthropology, and also
      competed in intercollegiate soccer.

Prior to joining Dakota Ridge Family Medicine, Ms. Cowan worked in internal
medicine in Wheat Ridge as a family nurse practitioner and at Presbyterian
St. Luke’s Medical Center in the Surgical-Telemetry unit as an registered nurse.

Ms. Cowan is happy to be providing outpatient acute care needs as part
of the Dakota Ridge Family Medicine team. She believes that optimal health
is achieved through shared decision-making between the patient and the provider.

When she’s not at work, Ms. Cowan spends her time mountain biking,
skiing, hiking, baking and outside on various adventures with her husband
      and their two dogs.
