Community Health Needs Assessment

As an independent, nonprofit health system that has had a completely local Board of Directors for 100 years, Boulder Community Health (BCH) exemplifies the transformative power of giving community members input into health care decision-making.

BCH, like all Colorado health systems, uses a systematic process called a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to identify and analyze local health needs and assets in order to develop meaningful strategies to address those needs. In our 2023-2025 CHNA we’ve identified the following community needs:

  • Mental Health, Chronic Pain Management and Substance Use Disorders
  • Wellness, Preventative Health and Access to Care
    • Focus on Health Equity
    • Focus on Women’s Health
  • Chronic Disease Management
    • Focus on Aging
  • BCH and Provider Workforce
