The following is a guest blog by Ali Rhodes, director of Boulder Parks and Recreation.

Reconnect with Boulder Parks and Recreation

Your physical and mental well-being are more important than ever. At Boulder Parks and Recreation, our team is working hard every day to provide opportunities for you to take care of yourself. Your safety, and that of our teammates, is priority number one for any services we offer.

We’re here to help you stay active; your way, and at your comfort level by offering live, virtual, on-demand, outdoor, small group and vulnerable population options, listed in the Parks and Recreation Guide. We’ve partnered with Older Adult Services (OAS) to make programs safe and accessible for older adults (ages 60+).

We've continued a rewarding partnership with Boulder Community Health. Since the conception of Walk With A Doc, Parks and Rec wellness staff have been at every walk—connecting with walkers and providing health and wellness resources. Since we can’t walk together because of COVID-19, we continue our partnership by providing a fitness expert to the panel of speakers for BCH’s virtual wellness series, Be Well Saturdays. Our joint-partnership allows us to extend our reach and motivate even more people to move more.

Join the fun. We love seeing your “Zoom square” and all of you who’ve visited the recreation centers, worn your mask and followed all the new regulations.

If you’re having trouble accessing classes and programs, or need a little extra assistance getting signed up and joining live-stream virtual classes, please reach out to an OAS coordinator if you’re over 60, or please call one of our recreation centers.

When you’re ready, we’re here to support you in achieving your health goals. Our mission at Boulder Parks and Recreation is to promote the health and well-being of our community. During the challenges of 2020 and beyond, we are focused on delivering on our promise to provide access for all, including those who need financial aid.
