BCH receives gold-level Colorado Healthy Hospital Compact Award

BCH receives gold-level Colorado Healthy Hospital Compact Award

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) recently recognized BCH for achieving gold-level status as a partner of the Colorado Healthy Hospital Compact. This initiative is part of the state’s work to promote healthy eating and active living to reduce the rates of death and disease from chronic illness among Coloradans. BCH was acknowledged for its exceptional commitment to ensuring food and beverages meet specific nutrition criteria.

The Compact recognized 39 Colorado hospitals. BCH was one of five to receive a gold-level recognition. Four platinum and two silver winners were also announced.

“We are proud to honor these hospitals for their voluntary efforts to develop a culture focused on healthy nutrition,” said Ynke de Koe, CDPHE nutrition integration specialist who manages the Colorado Healthy Hospital Compact program. “Their leadership in this work contributes to our goal of making Colorado the healthiest state.”

BCH has maintained a gold status since 2018.
