BCH Band performs at Boulder’s Band on the Bricks

For our Centennial Celebration, BCH’s house band, Soul Medicine, performed at Downtown Boulder’s Band on the Bricks for Health Care Workers Appreciation Night. Soul Medicine was the opening act for the evening, and performed covers and original songs celebrating kindness, compassion and love.

The evening’s ensemble included:

  • Christopher Zielenski, Pharmacy Coordinator, on drums

  • Dr. Alan Zacharias, Associated Neurologists, and Casey Diekmann, Director of Pharmacy, on guitar

  • Melissa Fuller, ICU Nurse Educator, on bass

  • Karen Brady, Speech Language Pathologist; Sharna Ill, Director of Health and Wellness; Michele Sternitzky, Associate Chief Nursing Officer; and, Jeff Cartner, RN on vocals!

Notes of Appreciation

Additionally, as part of Health Care Appreciation Night, the community wrote notes of appreciation to our BCH team.

13-year-old Karina wrote specifically to her sister who is a medical resident:

"I appreciate you because:

  • the long hours you work

  • the patience you have with your patients

  • the amount of care and love you show

  • everything you do!"

6-year-old Bryce wrote: “If I get sick, my doctor, my nurse and my dad help me get better!”

Other appreciation notes included:

“Thank you for sacrificing time with your families to take care of mine.”

“You are literal lifesavers! You are appreciated so much more than you know!”

“Thanks for sharing your hearts and healing hands!”

These notes were then hung on a young tree, which filled up throughout the evening with gratitude, stories, and love. The tree is now planted at Foothills Hospital as BCH continues to celebrate our Centennial in 2022, and as we continue to care for the healthiest community for 100 years to come!
