I am happy to share that Boulder Community Health has received accreditation for our electroencephalography (EEG) laboratory from the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET).

ABRET was founded in 1964 and is the primary accrediting body for EEG laboratories in the United States.

We are the 2nd lab to be accredited in the state of Colorado, second only to the Children’s Hospital in Denver. We are the only adult EEG lab now accredited in Colorado!
ABRET’s lab accreditation process evaluates technical standards, the quality of the laboratory’s output, unit policies, and management. It is verification of the ongoing quality our lab produces and establishes our presence in the State as a go-to EEG lab for outside referrals, including routine EEGs, 4 hour video-EEGs and ambulatory EEGs.

Receiving this news reflects two years of preparations – including the initiation of the EEG committee with regular CME for our technologists, writing detailed technical protocols for procedures, reviewing safety procedures and many other details.

If you happen to see Haley Hinkle or Chris Moore in the hallway, please thank them. Aside from all our wonderful technologists who do the day-to-day work. Haley and Chris did the heavy lifting for the accreditation process - with Haley writing the protocols and Chris preparing the application.

This adds great value to our program and the hospital as an institution.

Congrats Everyone!
