building exteriorThe Daily Camera and BizWest have published news stories about Boulder Community Health's expansion into Erie, CO.

They report BCH will construct a medical-office building in Erie on 6.1 acres of vacant land at the northwest corner of Erie Parkway and South Briggs Street in Erie. The medical-office building will include an urgent-care facility.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2017 and be completed sometime during the fourth quarter of 2018. The medical office building will be two stories and have about 40,000 square feet of space.

“Boulder Community Health has served the residents of Erie for many years, now we will serve directly in the growing community,” said Darryl Brown, BCH’s chief business officer. “This property is strategically located to serve Erie and the surrounding communities.”

The BCH facility will be Erie's first large-scale medical site, a deficiency that town officials have looked to correct amid the community's growth over the last decade.

"It's a need of the community to bring a (medical facility) in," Erie spokesman Fred Diehl told the Daily Camera last fall. "Bringing this facility in would be an example of how we are attracting and ultimately delivering on primary employers to support businesses in historic downtown and the four corners."
