About
Dr. Nichols received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa
in 1985. He graduated from University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1989.
He then performed his internship and radiology residency at the University
of Nebraska Medical Center from 1989-1994. He was chief resident Radiology
at UNMC in 1994. He then completed a fellowship in MRI at Johns Hopkins
Hospital in 1995.
In 1997, after two years in private practice in Little Rock, Arkansas,
Dr. Nichols joined Boulder Radiologists, Inc.
Dr. Nichols is board certified in diagnostic radiology and is a member
of the American Medical Association, American College of Radiology, Radiological
Society of North America, the Colorado Radiological Society, the American
Roentgen Society, Society of Interventional Radiology, and the Boulder
Medical Society. He has been active within the Medical Staff at Boulder
Community Health, having previously served as member and Chair of Credentials
Committee, Chief of Medical Staff (2007-2008), and is currently Chair
of the Practitioner Health and Well-Being Committee.
Dr. Nichols’ areas of expertise include imaging and care of the injured
athlete, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, and oncology
care. He enjoys providing state-of-the-art care to his patients in a safe
and comfortable environment.
He is one of the co-founders of the BSTRONG ride, an annual charity bike
ride providing funds for local cancer care in Boulder. Established in
2010, the ride has been the primary sponsor for the Integrative Cancer
Center at Boulder Community Health since that time. www.BStrongride.com
When not working, Dr Nichols believes that time spent outdoors is the best
medicine, and will use any excuse possible (cycling, skiing, hiking, etc.)
to maximize time spent in Mother Nature, both in the lovely state of Colorado
and abroad.
