Oussama Lawand, MD,FHRS

About

Dr. Oussama Lawand joined the cardiology team at Boulder Community Health’s Boulder Heart in September 2022. Previously, Dr. Lawand was a cardiac electrophysiologist and a Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. His experience in Wyoming with a multidisciplinary heart team mirrors the work the expert cardiologists and surgeons at Boulder Heart are doing to improve comprehensive cardiac care to high-risk patients.

As an electrophysiologist in Cheyenne, Dr. Lawand managed a cardiac rhythm device clinic and specialized in catheter ablations and device implantation. He was the first physician to implant a leadless pacemaker (Micra-TPS) in Wyoming.

Dr. Lawand, who has conducted extensive research and been the primary investigator in multiple clinical studies, oversaw the implementation of a complex ablation program and the first atrial fibrillation clinic in Wyoming. This center provided timely arrhythmia care and options for anticoagulation and rhythm control therapy.

When he is not helping patients, Dr. Lawand loves to hike and snowboard with his wife, make homemade pizza, and grill in the backyard for his family.

Philosophy of Care

“Be present as a healer and listener for my patients. My goal is to deliver care with humanity and humility. I consider it a privilege to be able to care for others when they are most in need.” – Dr. Lawand
