Kara Rao is a certified Physician Assistant. She received her bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She played varsity soccer for the university and developed an interest in medicine after spending many hours in the training room with injuries. She completed the Physician Assistant program at the University of Florida, one of the top programs of its kind in the country.
Ms. Rao began her career as a PA in Gainesville, FL working for a diverse group of specialized interventional cardiologists. Through this experience she discovered her interest in acute care and spent the majority of her time treating patients in the hospital with cardiovascular problems.
Ms. Rao's area of interest is in preventive care, specifically lifestyle modifications for the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Her background in nutrition has enhanced her ability to help her patients make changes towards a healthier lifestyle.

Kara REALLY listened and heard my issues. Came up with several suggestions while admitting she wasn't sure of the issue. Treated symptoms both medically and giving some advice that extended beyond just the basics of heart mechanics. Appreciated her thinking outside the box. Definitely would schedule with her again. Wonderful practitioner.
