What is the DDI High Impact Award?

Founded more than 55 years ago, DDI has been a global leader in transforming how organizations hire, develop and promote leaders. Since 1970, DDI has partnered with companies to create leaders who deliver measurable business impact while empowering Human Resource (HR) teams to foster cultures of organizational excellence.

BCH was proud to be selected as the 2025 High Impact Award winner at the Better Leaders Summit in November 2025. The High Impact Award recognizes organizations achieving exceptional, measurable results in their leadership development strategy. Receiving this award highlights BCH and the BCH Foundation’s shared commitment to leadership development, driving performance, and creating a culture that empowers its workforce to deliver the best care possible.

The Catalyst Leadership Program

Description automatically generatedTo address higher turnover rates and lower employee engagement due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the BCH HR team came to the BCH Foundation to request grant funding to support a three-year subscription to DDI’s Leadership training modules. After approving grant-funding of $150,000 under the Extraordinary Workforce Funding Focus area, BCH launched the Catalyst Leadership Program based on DDI’s nationally recognized training practices.

The Catalyst Leadership Program integrates leadership competencies to existing key organizational processes, helping to break down silos and improve collaboration and engagement across departments. Since its launch in 2021, the Program has provided top-quality education and training sessions to 155 leaders at BCH.

Results since implementation

Alongside other initiatives deployed by the BCH HR team, the Catalyst Leadership Program achieved over 90% attendance and was instrumental in reducing employee turnover from 29% in 2021 to 20% in 2025, a 10% reduction in patient complaints, and double-digit gains in leadership competencies.

As a result of the partnership between BCH and DDI as well as funding from the BCH Foundation, BCH health care leaders are better prepared to make informed, strategic decisions that support top quality patient care. Whether through improved care processes, better resource allocation, or stronger team collaboration, these leadership development initiatives have empowered teams to work better together to care for our community.
