Boulder Community Health celebrates two prestigious national recognitions
Boulder Community Health (BCH) is proud to announce the receipt of two prestigious recognitions that highlight an unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care and compassionate health care practices.
Foothills Hospital named among America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2026
Foothills Hospital has earned recognition as one of America’s Best-in-State Hospitals 2026 by Newsweek, ranking among the top 800 hospitals across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Developed in partnership with global data intelligence firm Statista, the ranking evaluates hospitals based on four key pillars: Quality Metrics (50%), Reputation (30%), Patient Experience (15%) and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) Implementation (5%).
The quality data used in the rankings comes from reputable health care sources, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Arcadia Medicare Fee-for-Service claims, and accrediting bodies like The Joint Commission. Reputation scores reflect feedback from a nationwide survey of medical professionals, while patient experience scores are informed by the HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey results.
This recognition reflects Foothills Hospital’s continued commitment to providing exceptional care and delivering a patient experience rooted in compassion, quality and excellence.
BCH earns Lotus Recognition™ for Excellence in Compassionate Care
Additionally, BCH has been honored with the Lotus Recognition™, a prestigious award from the Watson Caring Science Institute (WCSI). This recognition acknowledges BCH’s commitment to Dr. Jean Watson’s Human Caring Theory and its successful integration of these principles into everyday health care practices.
The Lotus Recognition™ reflects BCH’s ongoing efforts to create a culture of care that places compassion, dignity and authentic human connection at the forefront of its mission. The award celebrates not only leadership vision but also the lived experiences of BCH’s caregivers who embody these values in their daily interactions with patients.
A significant contributor to this achievement is the work of BCH’s Caring Science Council. With support from the BCH Foundation, BCH Leadership and the Health & Wellness and Spiritual Care Departments, the Council has championed Caritas education across the system. This initiative empowers both clinical and non-clinical staff to engage with practices that bring love, presence and authenticity to every patient encounter.
Jackie Attlesey-Pries, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Nursing Officer at BCH shared her thoughts on the recognition. She states, “We are deeply honored to receive the Lotus Award, a recognition that affirms our commitment to placing human caring at the center of everything we do.”
