What is TENS?

̈ A hand-held battery-operated device, which
transmits mild electrical impulses
̈ Reduces pain in labor by distracting the brain
from labor sensations.
̈ Allows freedom of movement
̈ Is especially useful for back labor
̈ Has no known risks for birther or baby
̈ You will learn the physiology and research behind using
the TENS in labor
