In order to protect your personal information, Boulder Community Health (BCH) discourages the use of regular email for patient correspondence. Email messages originated by you, our patient, are not sent in a secured, encrypted format which may result in your personal information being exposed to others. BCH employs a secure email solution for all emails originated by BCH. This does not apply to emails sent to BCH from a regular personal email account. For any communications that you, our patient, originate, we recommend the use of the MyBCH Health Services to send your message.
1) What types of messages should be sent using MyBCH Health Services?
MyBCH Health Services should not be used to communicate urgent information, your clinical information, or questions regarding your health record or results. If you have questions about your record you should contact your current care provider directly. In case of emergency, please call 911. For a list of BCH providers please visit our Physician Directory.
2) When I sent an inquiry through the MyBCH Health Services "Contact Us" feature, why did I receive a response from ZixCorp?
In order to ensure your privacy and to meet HIPAA requirements, any messages containing your health information must be encrypted. ZixCorp ensures all emails sent to you are encrypted.
3) How do I open a ZixCorp email?
To open a message sent from ZixCorp you will need to create ZixCorp password. Once you create a password, you will be able to enter the same password to open secure emails.
4) How long will responses take?
We work very hard to respond as quickly as possible to let you know when your request has been received. Depending on the nature of the request, a response could take up to two (2) business days. MyBCH Health Services is checked during business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. You are encouraged to use MyBCH Health Services at any time; however, messages submitted after hours are held for us until we return the next business day.
