About

Melissa Fountain is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She earned a Master of Medical Sciences (MMS) from St. Francis University in Pennsylvania and completed the Red Rocks Community College Physician Assistant program, graduating with honors.

Prior to joining Family Medical Associates in Lafayette, Melissa gained experience in variety of inpatient and outpatient clinical settings including emergency medicine, women’s health and primary care. She believes in a collaborative approach to health care, striving to create a strong partnership with her patients. By focusing on preventive care and patient education, she empowers her patients to take an active role in their health while staying ahead of potential health concerns.

Drawing on evidence-based medicine, Melissa ensures her patients receive the most effective and up-to-date treatment options. Melissa has extensive experience in diabetes management and additional training in osteoporosis prevention and treatment.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, trying diverse cuisines and quilting. In the warmer months, you'll find her enjoying the outdoors on the golf course. During the colder months, she is an active member of a women's curling team and participates in mixed doubles curling with her husband.
