About

Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) Katie Butler obtained a master’s degree in nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY, and plans to pursue a doctorate in nursing practice at Frontier.

Since 2014, Katie has been working in maternity health care. First as a public health nurse focusing on prenatal and postpartum education, next as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting, then as a student midwife at a birth center in Portland, OR, and now as a CNM at The Birth Center of Boulder.

Katie strongly advocates for women to give birth the way they choose and for empowering women to take charge of their health care. She finds it an honor to witness birth and new beginnings firsthand.

When not at work, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, paddle boarding and absorbing time in the mountains. She loves the mountains so much that she named all her pets after some: Rainier, Everest, Denali and Adams.
