Anna Fernandez, CNM,MSN

About

Certified Nurse-Midwife Anna Fernandez received her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado-Boulder, a nursing degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, MI, and a graduate-level midwifery education at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY.

Anna’s interest in midwifery was sparked during the pregnancy of her first child. After a positive maternity care experience with a midwife, Anna knew that she wanted to provide that same kind of care for other families -- care that has a foundation in respect, compassion and empowerment.

With a baby in her arms, she took a doula class. For years, she provided care in two busy practices to families who chose to birth at home. As her passion for midwifery care grew, Anna decided she wanted to expand her scope of practice and become a certified nurse-midwife.

Anna is thrilled to be able to practice her passion for midwifery and women's health in such a fantastic community. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time in the woods, mountains and rivers. She is also an herbalist and loves weaving this art into her practice as clients desire
