**The Peripheral Neuropathy Clinic has been canceled until further notice**

Boulder Community Health’s highest priority is to ensure we do everything within our control to maintain the safety of our patients, staff and the overall community. This requires us to take every opportunity to contain, control and reduce the impact of the COVID-19 virus. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), limiting public gatherings is a very effective tool for slowing the spread of COVID-19. We are following that CDC recommendation and canceling all non-essential public gatherings intended for community members. This is effective immediately and includes (The Peripheral Neuropathy Clinic).

We recognize that activities like community education programs and support groups are highly valued by community members and the BCH staff who provide those services.

Thank you for supporting this effort to safeguard our community. I also encourage you to visit the homepage of our website,, for regular updates about COVID-19.

This specialized acupuncture clinic is targeted to treat neuropathy of the hands and feet. Licensed acupuncturists from the BCH Center for Integrative Care (CIC) will provide these treatments.

Research has shown that targeted acupuncture treatments can be helpful for chemotherapy-induced neuropathy. Targeted acupuncture sessions for neuropathy at a frequency of 2-3 times per week have shown improved outcomes. The Peripheral Neuropathy Clinic sessions will focus on neuropathy only and will not address other side effects of chemotherapy. This clinic is intended to be an addition to our Monday and Wednesday clinics in offering the intensive treatment found most beneficial for treatment of neuropathy.

Please talk with your acupuncturist at CIC to decide how many times a week will be best for you.

Neuropathy treatments will be 20-40 minutes in length, provided on a first-come, first-served basis. At each of our community sessions, we can treat 3 clients with neuropathy concurrently.
