COVID-19 Vaccine for 65-69
Vaccination information for people ages 65-69
Updated 3/3/21
The State made people in this age group eligible to get vaccinated effective
February 8. BCH does not have a waiting list for vaccination appointments.
The quickest and most efficient way to arrange for a vaccination from
BCH is through the MyBCH patient portal, which provides community members
with unrestricted access to vaccine – you do not need to be a BCH
patient to set up a free MyBCH account.
Individuals with MyBCH accounts will be chosen randomly to receive vaccine.
You will be notified by email when you are eligible to make an appointment.
Due to the limited supply of vaccine, this could take several weeks.
If you already have a MyBCH account, check it to make sure your personal
information is up to date.
If you don’t have a MyBCH account, you can sign up at
bch.org/vaccine.
If you have any issues trying to sign in to the MyBCH portal, you should email
MyBCH@bch.org. Please note that many individuals are setting up MyBCH accounts, so it
may take time to respond to individual requests for support.
We have also set up a call center specifically to help individuals who
are unable to use MyBCH. Eligible individuals can schedule a vaccination
appointment by calling 303-415-7777 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5
p.m. As you’d expect, we are getting lots of calls, so it may take
time to respond to all inquiries. We appreciate your patience.
Please keep in mind that the amount of vaccine available in Boulder County
continues to be very limited when compared against the number of people
eligible to be vaccinated. It will be several weeks before you receive vaccine.
Vaccine FAQ
How will I know when I can schedule my appointment?
You will receive a notification through MyBCH when you are able to schedule
a vaccine appointment.
- Look for a message in your email that says: “You have a new scheduling
ticket in MyBCH.”
- Click on the BLUE BUTTON to log into MyBCH.
- Once in MyBCH, click on the GREEN Schedule Now button.
- Select an appointment date and time for your initial dose through MyBCH.
- At that appointment, you will receive your initial dose and schedule your
second dose.
How do you decide who gets contacted for vaccination?
We tried different approaches but have settled on picking individuals randomly.
We believe this approach is equitable, easy to understand and less stressful
for people who are waiting to be contacted about vaccination.
Can I get vaccinated at BCH without an appointment?
No walk-ins can be vaccinated at BCH. Our goal is to get as many people
as possible vaccinated as quickly as possible. Our aggressive scheduling
means every dose of vaccine has already been assigned to someone with
an appointment. That means there are no “extra” doses available
for walk-ins.
I received a notification to schedule my vaccine but there are no appointments
available. What do I do?
The vaccine supply locally continues to be limited. As we receive more
vaccine, we are able to open more appointments. If you receive a notification
but do not find an available appointment in MyBCH, please continue to
check back.
The Moderna and Pfizer vaccines require two doses -- can I schedule both
doses at the same time?
No, scheduling of the second dose is done at the BCH Vaccination Clinic
after you have gotten your initial dose.
I have a vaccination scheduled at BCH but was able to get the vaccine someplace
else. How do I cancel my appointment at BCH?
If you need to cancel your existing BCH vaccine appointment, please log
into your MyBCH account, open your appointment and click "Cancel
Appointment." We also recommend that you contact us by emailing MyBCH@bch.org
to let us know that you canceled so that we may remove the appointment
notice from your portal. In your email, please include your name and date of birth.
How much does the vaccine cost?
There is no charge for the vaccine. BCH will bill health insurance companies
for administering the vaccine, but none of that fee will be passed on
to individuals.
Can I choose which vaccine I receive?
BCH has the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Unfortunately,
due to ongoing limitations in the supply of vaccine, we are not able to
offer a choice of which vaccine you will receive.
How can I get additional information?
BCH has set up a special page on our website that provides general information
on the vaccination program. That page is updated regularly. Go to
bch.org/COVIDvaccine.
