BCH Pharmacist Wins Prestigious Award

Boulder Community Health is proud to announce that Kelsey McNeil, PharmD, has been named the 2020 Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year in Colorado. The award is presented annually to a pharmacist in each state for individual excellence and outstanding contributions in state pharmacy association activities, community affairs and professional practice. The prestigious award–which was conferred at the recent meeting of the Colorado Pharmacists Society–is sponsored by Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company.

Kelsey, who has worked at BCH for a year and a half, graduated from the University of Montana in 2014 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She is a board-certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist and is a practice mentor and residency program preceptor at BCH.

“Kelsey is the only pharmacist in her role, so the success of the ambulatory pharmacist program relies entirely on her,” says BCH Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator Christopher Zielenski, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP. “She’s developed and implemented protocols to help patients with diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol at BCH. She serves on multiple committees, which influences patient care at BCH and also has held multiple leadership positions in the Colorado Pharmacists Society.”
