"BCH has literally been the pillar of support for me. I don't
know what I would have done without BCH as my support system. Never, ever
have I felt so supported. It's just been so incredible." -- BCH
Inpatient Wound Care Coordinator Teresa Torab, RN, MSc., CWON
It is never easy when one of our own at Boulder Community Health is diagnosed
with cancer.
Unfortunately, one of our beloved nursing professionals, BCH Inpatient
Wound Care Coordinator Teresa Torab, RN, MSc., CWON, has been diagnosed
with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer with no known cure.
Teresa, who has worked at BCH for six years, is currently on her first
round of chemotherapy in addition to extensive testing and treatments
to help prolong her life. She is a single mother to her beautiful nine-year
old daughter.
Teresa’s BCH family is rallying to support her, from hugs in the
hallway, to offers of help with her daughter, to doctors helping to coordinate
her care. She is experiencing exhaustion, speech impairment and tremors.
This week she tried to come to work but exhaustion overcame her.
Her BCH colleagues have set up a Go Fund Me
donation website and a
care calendar.
Other BCH staff are offering her their PTO (paid time off) by filling out
a form with BCH Human Resources.
To write a check or make an anonymous donation, please contact Teresa's
BCH colleague, Laura Spalding, at lspalding@bch.org.
"BCH has literally been the pillar of support for me. I don't
know what I would have done without BCH as my support system. Never, ever
have I felt so supported. It's just been so incredible," she said.
Thank you to all those offering support at this time.
