As we gather together with our loved ones this Thanksgiving, I want to
take a moment to share how profoundly grateful I am every day to be working
alongside such an incredible team of providers, staff and volunteers here
at Boulder Community Health.
For most of us, the centerpiece of Thanksgiving is a wonderful dinner.
This holiday is a time for reflection, so it’s a good time to recognize
that every meal gives us an opportunity to listen to each other’s
stories and share each other’s lives. Gratitude is a common theme
in the stories shared in our cafeterias and break rooms. And we at BCH
have much to be grateful for: living in Colorado with its abundant natural
beauty, meaningful work, supportive friendships with our colleagues, the
incredible teamwork that makes compassionate patient care happen every day.
Gratitude for each other and the important work that we share is at the
top of my list this Thanksgiving. Whether you are delivering care at the
bedside, helping a patient navigate their bill or keeping our health system
clean – whatever role you play in our expansive network –
know that your work is important and valued by your BCH family.
With thanks and appreciation for all you do,
Rob Vissers, MD, MBA, FACEP
