Our BCH food services team members were recently recognized for the care they provide our patients, visitors and staff every day.

“Thank you, food services, for helping our staff, visitors and patients to be and stay healthy," said Sharna Ill, BCH spiritual care and palliative care manager, to a group of food services staff, cooks, dieticians and dishwashers.

Sharna and fellow chaplain Courtney Gambrell gave staff Walmart gift cards donated by the BCH Foundation, and hand-written thank you notes filled out by caregivers and staff all across the hospital -- highlighting the role food services personnel play in nurturing and caring for patients, staff and visitors.

"Your smiling faces and healthy foods are wonderful," read one thank you note.

In addition to providing food to patients staying at Foothills Hospital and Boulder Community Hospital, the food services staff operate several cafes and coffee kiosks. They also manage a rooftop garden at Foothills Hospital full of fresh veggies served to caregivers and visitors in the cafeteria.

"This team is like family," said BCH food services director Tom Ingalls. "We all have such a great rapport and it shows in the service we are providing."
