    • About

      Physician Bio

Charlotte recently moved to the Boulder area from Boise, ID, to join the
growing practice of Foothills Community Midwives. She was initially trained
in the art and science of midwifery at the Seattle Midwifery School, graduating
in 1996. She attended births as a Licensed Midwife providing both home
      and birth-center births.

In order to expand her scope of practice, Charlotte attended nursing school
and was awarded her MSN degree with a specialty in nurse-midwifery from
Frontier Nursing University in 2008. For the following five years, she
worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical
Center in Boise, caring for both low- and high-risk patients in collaboration
with OB/GYN physicians and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists. During
her time at St. Alphonsus she was awarded the “Most Recommended
Practitioner” four years in a row!

Charlotte then opened her own private practice, building a birth center
in Boise. She became the first independent midwife in the state of Idaho
to obtain hospital privileges, partnering with St. Luke’s Regional
Medical Center in order to be able to provide care in all settings. As
much as she enjoyed providing this type of care, she found herself spending
more time managing the extensive responsibilities of being a business
owner than she did caring for patients—her first and fondest love.
She believes she has found a perfect fit in the Boulder-area community
and with the growing new practice of Foothills Community Midwives.

Charlotte is passionate about providing skilled, evidence-based care to
women. She is also dedicated to partnering with women and families, sharing
education and unbiased information in order to empower them to make the
most informed decisions regarding their own health care.

Charlotte hasn’t had a lot of free time over the past several years,
but is looking forward to traveling, hiking and biking again with her
husband Jonathan. She also is blessed to have three of her own children
(all grown), two wonderful stepchildren and an adorable grandson! Last
but not least, she is quite the animal lover and enjoys spending time
with her dogs, cats, hens, Quaker parrot and sweet miniature horse named Dazzle.

I loved my experience with Charlotte. She was so sweet and answered all of my questions.

While I desire to have a midwife-assisted birth at the hospital, the office space still seems too sterile and cold. Not warm and comfortable like the mindset of midwifery.

Looking forward to our experience moving forward!
