Dr. Rao joined Associated Neurologists in 2014. Previously, Dr. Rao served
as the Medical Director of Neurosciences at Floyd Memorial Hospital in
New Albany, IN, where he oversaw the development of inpatient and outpatient
neurology and participated in a multi-disciplinary sleep disorders center.
Dr. Rao is board certified in adult neurology, clinical neurophysiology/EEG
and sleep medicine. He earned an undergraduate degree in Biology, a masters
degree in Neuroscience and his medical degree from the University of Louisville
He completed his adult neurology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester,
MN and spent two additional years in fellowship training, first studying
electroencephalography (EEG)/epilepsy followed by a one year fellowship
in sleep medicine.
Dr. Rao treats all general neurologic problems in patients 18 years and
older. He has a special interest in Epilepsy-EEG/sleep medicine. Dr. Rao
is also passionate about obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and how treating
this condition improves cognitive and athletic performance.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Rao enjoys art, trail sports and being with his family.
