Dr. Rao was born and raised in Colorado, thus is a Colorado native. She
is board certified in Infectious Diseases and has been practicing for
greater than 10 years. She received her medical degree from Kasturba Medical
College and then completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Western
Reserve Care System in Ohio where she received Intern of the Year Award.
She completed her sub-specialization fellowship in Infectious Diseases
at Brown University in Rhode Island.
She has researched and published on various infectious diseases including
Kawasaki disease, Rheumatic Fever, and HIV. She treats a wide range of
infectious diseases including Tropical diseases both inpatient and outpatient.
Dr. Rao currently is the Medical Director of the World Wide Travel Medicine
Clinic and has been since 2012. She provides pre-travel counseling to
travelers in preparation for their International travel as well as provides
Post-Travel Care for travelers who may have become ill during or after
Dr. Rao is a member of IDSA, ASTMH, and ISTM.
She lives around the Boulder area with her husband and kids. During her
free time she enjoys Yoga, Skiing, Hiking, Running, and all types of Music.
