Dr. Dorfman is Associate Medical Director of Trauma Services at BCH. A
board-certified Emergency Medicine physician (and EMS Fellow), he received
his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and
completed his residency at Maine Medical Center. He earned a BA in economics
from Duke University.
In addition to being a full- time Emergency Medicine physician at BCH,
Dr. Dorfman is Director of Emergency Medical Services for the City and
County of Boulder, where he serves as Medical Director for 12 agencies.
He is also Medical Director for AMR ambulance service and Chairman of
the Boulder County Medical Directors Council.
Dr. Dorfman was named a Health Care Hero by the Boulder County Business
Report in 2007 in recognition of his saving the life of a 5-year-old girl
who was trapped in a plane that crashed in a lake while he was on vacation in Maine.
