Physician Bio
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Cannell received his Doctor of
Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences
in Pomona, California. He completed his residency in family medicine in
Honolulu, Hawaii, where he served as Chief Resident. He is originally
from Vashon Island, Washington where his family still resides.
Dr. Cannell has expertise in aerospace, musculoskeletal and sports medicine.
As a Senior Aeromedical Examiner (S-AME), he performs class 1, 2 and 3
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aeromedical evaluations. He utilizes
a multidisciplinary approach to injury treatment and prevention, which
is founded in osteopathic and functional movement principles. Dr. Cannell
uses Functional Movement Screens (FMS) and osteopathic evaluations as
the foundation for his injury treatment and prevention model.
Dr. Cannell’s preventive care model extends beyond injury prevention
to disease prevention. He believes in a proactive approach to health care,
which is rooted in healthy lifestyle choices. As an American Board of
Family Medicine (ABFM) physician, Dr. Cannell manages the full spectrum
of acute and chronic conditions for all ages. Dr. Cannell’s practice
philosophy is based upon evidence-based principles, patient education
and empowerment.
Dr. Cannell lives in Boulder County with his wife and two daughters. He
enjoys all forms of recreational activities to include strength and conditioning
training, cycling, running and hiking.
