Ways To Give
Over the past three years, Foundation grants to BCH health services and
patients have exceeded $2,500,000 annually. Your donation makes an impact
in our community. The Foundation uses donations to support a diverse range
of needs, including the Red Lipstick Fund helping local cancer patients
with limited resources navigate through their treatment; children’s
rehabilitation services; expansion of Foothills Hospital services; expanded
mental health and rehabilitation services; state-of-the-art medical technology,
financial support for un- and underinsured patients, and much, much more.
Boulder Community Health offers hundreds of different services to address
the diverse and ever-changing needs of our community. Greatest Need contributions
provide the Foundation with the most flexibility in supporting BCH to
deal with unpredictable and varying needs, including funding for valuable
services that are not directly covered by insurance.
Mental Health Endowment Fund
The goal of the endowment is to support the mental well-being of our patients
along the continuum of care, empowering them to strengthen and maintain
their personal independence as they address their mental health. Our goal
is to raise $2 million for the mental health endowment by the end of 2018.
Della Cava Family Medical Pavilion – Mental Health Fund
Our ambitious fundraising goal is $6 Million for the Della Cava Family
Medical Pavilion, an innovative 70,000 square foot space adjacent to Foothills
Hospital, designed to close the gap in our community's mental health
Red Lipstick Fund
The Red Lipstick Fund was created by three Boulder women -- Helayne Jones,
Anne Beer and Fran Ryan -- who listened to their friend, Marsha Moritz,
relate stories about the intense difficulty cancer patients faced in navigating
through their treatment with limited resources. Marsha would ask, “How
can they do it -- getting to and from chemo, picking up drugs, taking
care of home chores, keeping appointments -- without funds and personal
support?” Marsha, who passed away from breast cancer in September
of 2010, was a role model of dignity and an advocate for helping those
in need. Helayne, Anne and Fran named the Red Lipstick Fund in honor of
Marsha, who always wore red lipstick. The fund offers financial assistance
to cancer patients in need. The fund will pay for whatever a patient needs
-- medication, shelter, food and heat – giving that person one less
thing to worry about.
Breast Cancer Fund
The Breast Cancer Fund assists breast cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Patients like Mercedes Alvarez. “They told us that the financial
side of things should be the least of our considerations. We needed to
worry about treating the cancer and not worry about what was going to
happen to us financially because of the cancer,” says Greg Bowles,
Cancer Care Fund
The Cancer Care Fund covers the cost of many types of treatment for cancer
patients who are un- or underinsured.
Integrative Care Fund
The Integrative Care Fund covers the cost of alternative therapies for
cancer patients who are un- or underinsured, ensuring they have access
to massage therapy, reiki, meditation, acupuncture and more.
Pediatric Rehabilitation Fund
The Pediatric Rehabilitation Fund is for families of children receiving
rehabilitation treatment at BCH. Patients like Jordan Marshall, who suffered
a massive stroke before she was even born. The damage was so extensive
doctors didn't know whether she would ever walk, talk or see. Years
later, Jordan has made incredible progress. She participates fully in
school and excels academically. “We really feel so fortunate to
live in a place where we have access to the quality of care at BCH,”
says Kathryn Marshall, Jordan’s mother. “We feel like we are
getting top-notch treatment and that has been a big part of why Jordan
is doing so well today.”
Proceeds go toward injured Boulder Valley School District athletes who
may not be able to afford the full cost of their healthcare treatment.
Your support helps these athletes access state-of-the-art healthcare facilities
and providers at BCH and CU Sports Medicine and relieves financial stress
on their families.
Holes of Hope Fund
The objective of the annual Holes of Hope Golf Tournament is to increase
awareness and raise money for the the Tebo Cancer’s resources and needs.
