Dr. McCarty is board certified in family medicine. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri and completed his family practice residency at Eastmoreland Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Sports Science from Colorado State University.

Dr. McCarty has practiced family medicine since 2004. Prior to joining Family Medical Associates, he practiced at Gunbarrel Family Medicine.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. McCarty has a particular interest in diabetes, cardiology, osteoporosis, sports medicine and weight control.

Dr. McCarty lives in Boulder County with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys terrain/obstacle running and mountain biking. His interests include architectural history and historical fiction.
