Sue is a native of Michigan who ventured west over the last decade, joining BCSM in 2000 as a physical therapist and certified athletic trainer. She received her bachelor of arts in athletic training from Purdue University, graduating with Highest Distinction. While completing her master of science degree in physical therapy at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Sue was the primary athletic trainer for the St. Louis College of Pharmacy’s athletic program. After working general out-patient physical therapy for two years, Sue joined BCSM to pursue her interest in treating the injured athlete. She was a three-sport athlete in high school and still has special interest in treating basketball, volleyball and other overhead sports injuries. She has also treated numerous runners and hikers since coming to Boulder. Her continuing education has touched on mechanics with running, foot and ankle injuries and joint mobilization for the entire body. She works as an outreach athletic trainer whenever possible to keep current with her athletic training skills. She specializes in all lower extremity injuries and shoulders, operative and non-operative. Since moving to Colorado in 1997, she has remained active with her husband by hiking, biking and skiing. Team sports remain important as she continues to play softball and volleyball.
