Russ received his doctorate of physical therapy as a member of the first doctoral class to graduate in the state of Colorado. During his education he had the opportunity to study manual physical therapy internationally in Sydney, Australia. Before joining BCSM, he practiced in outpatient orthopedic clinics in Steamboat Springs and Longmont, Colorado. Born and raised in Colorado, Russ has enjoyed outdoor activities such as skiing, mountain biking, hiking and fly-fishing since he was a young boy. His experience growing up with an active lifestyle has given Russ an understanding of the importance of maintaining physical health to take advantage of the opportunities available in and around Boulder and throughout the state. His philosophy is that everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, can set and achieve goals that allow them maintain their passions. Russ’s post-graduate education has focused on therapeutic exercise and manual physical therapy of the spine and extremities. He is continuing to expand his academic credentials, pursuing a Fellowship in orthopedic manual physical therapy beginning in summer 2006. Today, he and his wife list chasing their three year old daughter as one of their most effective fitness routines.
