Dr. Justin D. Green is a board certified physiatrist specializing in sports medicine, spine care and peripheral nerve injuries. He has been in private practice in Boulder since 1992. Dr. Green chose to pursue his interest in sports medicine after his extensive studies in exercise science at the University of Colorado-Boulder. Dr. Green continues to apply his knowledge to his current avocation as a 40+ Expert level mountain bike racer in Colorado. Dr. Green has an extensive background in sports both as a participant and as a physician. In college he was the starting collegiate soccer goalkeeper for the University of Colorado, and represented the university on club level men’s volleyball teams. He continues to play indoor soccer and is an avid alpine skier. Dr. Green has worked in the Michigan State University sports medicine department as a clinical professor, trained at the San Francisco Spine Institute, and been a Team Physician for Michigan and Colorado sports teams. His own experience with two ruptured Achilles tendons has given him personal insight into athletic injuries, surgery and rehabilitation. Dr. Green graduated with a B.A. in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He accepted a coveted four year trustee merit scholarship to Hahnemann University Medical School in Philadelphia. After completing his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor he assumed the management of a private practice in East Lansing, MI. During this period he pursued a second board certification in Electrodiagnostic Medicine, becoming one of the few such certified physicians in the Boulder area. Dr. Green returned to Colorado in 1992 and has subsequently completed training in spinal epidural and interventional pain management in Denver. Dr. Green has also completed training in Medical Acupuncture at UCLA for alternative pain management. Dr. Green specializes in non-surgical orthopedics, spinal pain conditions, and nerve injuries.
