Jeff is a licensed physical therapist and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. He has extensive experience in the treatment of sports and orthopedic injuries along with sports biomechanics. In addition to his work in the sports physical therapy department, he also works in the Sports Science department at BCSM providing medical and 3-dimensional bike fittings, utilizing his expertise in lower extremity mechanics, injury prevention, physiology and coaching. He is also a USA Triathlon Expert Level Coach. Before relocating to Boulder in 1995, Jeff worked at Lake Placid Sports Medicine, in Lake Placid, New York, the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. He has treated numerous Olympic medallists and national team members along with many professional, collegiate, scholastic, and recreational athletes. Jeff is actively involved in the community sports scene. He has been the head junior varsity and assistant varsity boys’ basketball coach at Fairview High school since 1996. He was a member of the National Champion University of Colorado Triathlon team. He has also been a coach at the Stanford University summer basketball camp. He has provided medical coverage and volunteered at many local and regional sporting events. Jeff has written and contributed to articles that have appeared in the Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, Velo News, Inside Triathlon, Ski Magazine, Colorado Runner, Adventure Sports Magazine, and Rocky Mountain Sports along with contributing training and injury prevention tips on numerous winter sports websites. He enjoys spending much of his free time in winter sports such as snowboarding and snowshoe racing, along with triathlon, mountain biking and trail running. He has completed an Ironman and numerous half ironman triathlons and has raced mountain bikes on the East Coast and in the Rockies in various NORBA events. He particularly enjoys grueling events such as the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic and Imogene Pass Run that take him into the high country of Colorado. He dreams of someday retiring as a backcountry snowboard guide in British Columbia. Jeff received his Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana and also has a degree in Management/Economics from Baldwin Wallace College. He received his USA Triathlon Coaching Certification at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and strength and conditioning certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
