Dr. Hunter Smith is a long-time resident of Colorado, where he received a substantial proportion of his education. Much of his professional career has focused on pulmonary medicine, physiology and exercise testing. Using what he has learned from his own limitations with asthma, Dr. Smith strives to educate and treat athletes of all levels, with a particular interest in those with respiratory problems. Trained in pulmonary medicine at the University of Colorado and in pulmonary physiology and exercise testing at National Jewish Hospital, he continues to work with individuals with respiratory and pulmonary complications. Dr. Smith is an avid athlete; biking, climbing and running whenever his workload allows. This has given him an intimate understanding of the issues that his patients face. At the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine, using exercise testing, physiologic analysis and therapeutic modifications, he has helped athletes of all levels achieve optimal performance.
