Internal Medicine Physicians

Internal medicine physicians are concerned with the complete non-surgical care of adults – from adolescents to the elderly.  Internists have undergone special study and training so they are experts in medical diagnosis and treatment of adult disorders, including treatment of severe chronic illnesses.

Dr. Webb joined the Boulder Community Internal Medicine practice in June of 2007.  He was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio.    Dr. Webb received his medical degree from The Medical College of Ohio at Toledo.  He completed his internship and residency at the Aultman Family Practice Residency Program and Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.   Dr. Webb has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Wright State University in Dayton, where he graduated Summa cum Laude with Departmental Honors.

Dr. Webb is a Board Certified family practice physician who specializes in adult medicine. 

He has many outside interests including flying RC aircraft, dive medicine, and spending time with his family.

Young BWC pic Ellen Young, M.D.

Boulder Community Internal Medicine added Dr. Ellen Young to the practice in August of 2007.   Dr. Young was born and raised in Lancaster Pennsylvania.     She went to undergraduate school at University of Vermont.  She received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve Medical School in Cleveland and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, PA. 

Dr Young has had the opportunity to practice Internal Medicine in Pennsylvania and Alaska as well as Colorado.

 

She enjoys treating patients who take an active interest in their care and are willing to work hard to feel better.

 

Dr. Young is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys skiing, hiking and biking with her family and friends.

 

Campbell-John John Campbell, PAC

John Campbell has practiced as a Physician Assistant in the Boulder area for over 8 years.  He specializes in the treatment of adult medicine.

John received his master’s in medical science and physician assistant training at Emory University in Atlanta. He received his undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Colorado.

As a physician assistant, he maintains certification with the NCCPA, licensure with the Colorado Medical Board, and licensure for prescriptions through the DEA.

John, who is a native of Boulder, enjoys spending his time off with his wife and two boys.  John stays busy coaching a variety of sports teams that his children participate in and by cycling.   John is also a member of the Boulder Community Hospital Credentialing Committee. 

Denise Kawecki, FNP (No photo available.)

Boulder Community Internal Medicine invited Denise Kawecki to join the practice in May of 2007.   Denise is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who received her Masters of Science in Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.  She is licensed and certified as a Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and State of Colorado Advanced Practice Registry.

Prior to joining Boulder Community Internal Medicine Denise worked for Boulder Community Hospital as a Licensed Practical nurse for 3 years and a  Registered Nurse for  4 years.

Denise was born and raised in DuBois, Pennsylvania and currently enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband.  Together they enjoy horse back riding, spending time with their pets and enjoying the beautiful Colorado scenery.

vincent_bilello_2 Vincent Bilello, M.D.

Dr. Bilello received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. His undergraduate degree is a B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and his post-baccalaureate studies were from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Dr. Bilello is a board-certified internal medicine specialist, focusing on the primary care of adults. As an internist, he diagnoses and treats medical problems, as well as promotes good general health through screening, preventive care, diet, and exercise.

Dr. Bilello has a passion for helping people, and he looks for opportunities that allow him to give back to the community. For example, for seven years, during both his medical and residency training, he actively served at the free-care clinics in Worcester and Burlington, Massachusetts.

In July of 2003, Dr. Bilello relocated from Massachusetts to join Internal Medicine Associates of Lafayette. He and his wife, Diane, were drawn to Colorado to be closer to family and to introduce their two children to the state’s tremendous outdoor opportunities.

In his spare time, Dr. Bilello enjoys hiking and camping with his family. He also enjoys woodworking, running, biking, and swimming.

Elizabeth Cruse, M.D. (No photo available).

Elizabeth Cruse, MD. Dr. Cruse is a board-certified internist who focuses on the treatment and prevention of adult illnesses and injuries. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Cruse also brings a unique interest in women’s health to our Lafayette clinic.

Dr. Cruse received her medical degree from Baylor College and completed her residency at the University of Rochester in New York. Her undergraduate degree is from Brown University. Prior to joining Internal Medicine Associates, Dr. Cruse practiced internal medicine at Memorial City Hospital in Houston.

A member of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Cruse also served as an assistant professor for the University of Texas Health Science Center, where she was honored with the Dean’s Award for teaching.

She recently relocated to Boulder with her husband and three children to be closer to the mountains and enjoy our outdoor lifestyle.

brubaker William Brubaker, M.D.

Dr. Brubaker received his medical degree in 1972 from Philadelphia's Jefferson Medical College. His undergraduate degree is from Franklin and Marshall College in Pennsylvania.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he has been practicing internal medicine locally since 1977. Prior to settling in Boulder, he completed his residency at Presbyterian Medical Center in Denver and spent two years in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his over two decades in active practice, Dr. Brubaker has collaborated on numerous research projects, including studies involving hypertension, headaches, osteoarthritis, bronchitis, pneumonia, yeast infections, dysmenorrhea and urinary tract infections. He has staff privileges at Boulder Community Hospital.

Dr. Brubaker and his wife have a daughter. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, golf and bicycling.

dobijaanthony Anthony Dobija, M.D.

Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Tony Dobija was in general practice in Hugo, Colorado for two years before moving to Boulder in 2002 and joining Internal Medicine Associates.

He did his clinical training at the University of Ottawa, Canada, and completed his internal medicine residency program at Columbus Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Dobija is a native of Poland, where he practiced medicine for nine years. He is married and has three children. His interests include history, tennis, skiing and traveling.

haimes Mark Haimes, M.D.

Dr. Haimes received his medical degree in 1977 from the University of Illinois. He completed his internship and residency at Evanston Hospital of Northwestern University. His undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Chemistry from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he has been practicing internal medicine locally since 1980. He is a native of New York state.

Dr. Haimes considers himself fortunate to be a physician in Boulder with its very interesting population. He particularly enjoys learning about the social, family and professional lives of his patients. He has staff privileges at Boulder Community Hospital.

He and his wife have a daughter and a son. In his spare time, his passion is growing and breeding magnolias.

Keidan-Benjamin Ben Keidan, M.D.

Dr. Keidan specializes in the care of patients with complex medical problems as well as preventive medicine, with particular strengths in the prevention and treatment of cardio-vascular diseases and diabetes.

Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Keidan came to Boulder from Boston, where he was an internist and hospitalist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a member of the teaching faculty of Harvard Medical School. Before that, he was chief medical resident at George Washington University Medical School in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Keidan was born and raised in Michigan where he earned his MD with from Wayne State University and his BA from the University of Michigan.  An avid hiker, skier, runner and swimmer, he has completed several triathlons and marathons including both the Chicago and Boston Marathon.  

Dr. Keidan came to Boulder with his wife Caroline and their daughters, Sarah and Gabrielle, because of the climate and beautiful setting, and to take advantage of the area’s outdoor life.

lipetz Valerie Lipetz, M.D.

Dr. Lipetz received her medical degree with honors from the University of Colorado in 1988. She also has an M.A. in Biology and a B.A. in Psychology from CU.

She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been practicing locally since 1991. Except for four years in Denver for medical school and a three-year residency in Portland, she has called Boulder home since 1958. Dr. Lipetz has staff privileges at Boulder Community Hospital.

An active community volunteer, Dr. Lipetz has served as president of the American Heart Association's Boulder County Division and Boulder Community Hospital's Medical Staff.

Additionally, she has been a volunteer teacher at the University of Colorado's Health Sciences Center since the early 90s, and is an assistant clinical professor of medicine there.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, fly fishing, hiking, and practicing Okinawan Karate.
