Certified Orthopedic Nurses 

BCH is very proud that we can offer our patients 24/7 access to nurses who have earned Orthopaedic Nursing Certification (ONC), the only credential that documents an advanced level of knowledge and practice in orthopedic nursing.

Obtaining ONC is a rigorous undertaking. To receive ONC, a nurse must:

• Pass a certification examination that covers the full spectrum of orthopedic problems, from degenerative disorders, sports injuries and joint replacements to the most complex conditions.
  
  
• Have a minimum of 1,000 hours of work experience in orthopedic nursing. That extensive experience must be within the three years prior to taking the exam.
