BCH offers free Pre-Surgery Joint Classes that you should attend before your surgery. You will learn about:
Your medical team
Pre-admission and pre-surgery tests
What to do the night before surgery
Events that occur on the day of surgery
How to prevent complications from surgery
Preparing your home for your return after surgery
Medical supplies you may need after surgery
Rehabilitation after surgery
Resources for supplies and rehabilitation
You only need to attend one class. No registration is necessary. Please attend a class that is closest to your surgery date.
Please note: If a class falls on a holiday (New Year's Day, July 4, Labor Day, Christmas, etc.), please check the BCH website for further information.
Minimally Invasive Total Knee Replacement and Makoplasty Knee Resurfacing
Classes are held on the third Monday of every month.
Posterior Total Hip Arthroplasty, Birmingham Hip Resurfacing and Total Knee Arthroplasty
Classes are held on the first Monday of every month.

Take U.S. 36 west. Exit on Foothills Parkway. (CO157). Cross intersections at Baseline and
Colorado and at the next light, turn right on Arapahoe. Move into the left lane. Turn left at the first light, which
is 48th Street. The hospital entrance is on the left side of the street.
Take Diagonal Highway (Rt. 119) into Boulder. About 0.9 miles past Jay Road, the
highway will split. Stay left and continue south past the Pearl Street exit to Arapahoe. Go left on Arapahoe
and stay in the left lane. Turn left at the first light, which is 48th Street. The hospital entrance is about 200
yards on the left.
