Paul Lewis, M.D., is Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Boulder Community Hospital. The primary focus of the CMO is patient safety and understanding and optimizing the complex healthcare delivery system of the hospital.
Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, he graduated from college and received his M.D. degree from the University of Vermont. He completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Denver General Hospital. He has been on the medical staff in the Emergency Department at BCH since 1983, and previously served as the Medical Director. He has served as the CMO since the position was created in 2008. He has additional interest in end-of-life and hospice care and serves on the board of Family Hospice in Boulder.
He is married and has 2 children. He is an avid participant in outdoor activities including marathon running, fly fishing, river rafting, skiing and golf.
